Oliver Walker - Competition Success

On Wednesday 16th April 2008 at Harrogate College, two of our students took part in a brick laying competition.  The college was hosting the regional round of a National Competition and they ran a separate competition along side it for the School Links Boys.

Oliver Walker and Daniel Smith represented Wetherby in a competition along with two boys from Rosset School in Harrogate, one from Boston Spa and one from Boroughbridge.  They were given a plan and had to build from it.  The finished result was judged by the National President of the Guild of Bricklayers and his Regional Secretary.  The judging was very precise they measured every part of the walls with tapes measures and spirit levels!

Oliver deservedly won the First Prize - a tool box, Stanley tape measure and an electric screwdriver!
