GCSE

At Key Stage 4 Wetherby High School builds on the foundations laid at Key Stage 3.

 

The high quality teaching and learning which was highlighted in the June 2009 inspection has led to outstanding success for our students in their GCSE exams.  In 2009 the school was one of only 79 schools out of 2700 nationally to achieve all three Specialist School and Academies awards.

 

KEY STAGE 4 RESULTS FOR 2009

 

In 2009 70% of our Year 11 students achieved 5 GCSEs at grades a* - C.  In addition to this, 63% of our Year 11 students achieved 5 GCSEs including English and Maths.  This is significantly above the national average.

 

In addition our pass rates for English, Maths and Science are significantly above the national average (see below for details)

English                 

71% achieved grade C or above (national average '09 = 63%) 

Maths

72% achieved grade C or above (national average '09 = 57%)

Science 

69% achieved grade C or above (national average '09 = 60%)
