Dining Hall

The school dining hall was refurbished this year producing a bright and cheerful facility where students can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere.

The development of two food service areas has given flexibility for the Kitchen Staff to either duplicate meals on each or separate the menu between the two. Both ease the inevitable queuing.

The next phase of development is to install a cashless system. We are confident that this system, now used in many schools, will further enhance the delivery of the food service and make it much easier for students and parents.

 Healthy Eating

The Government food-based standards for school lunches and other school food were introduced in 2006.  The next two years will see further standards introduced and, whilst not without critics, the concept has been welcomed across the country and at Wetherby High School we continue to educate our students in line with the National Healthy School guidlines.

A sample lunch menu is shown which, we believe, gives a good and varied choice for even the most discerning customer.

Packed lunches are, of course, the responsibility of parents but the school will provide guidlines in accordance with Government standards and these will form part of our revised School Nutritional Policy.

In addition the school offers a breakfast club and breaktime snacks.  Both are very popular with the students.
