The PE Department has grown and developed over the last few years to include as many students as possible, regardless of student ability. The school is now widely known as a flagship school for football receiving County and Regional recognition. As well as being an FA Charter Development School, the boys' and girls' teams representing the school from Year 7 to Sixth Form.
Teams are entered locally in the Leeds School League Cup, regionally in the West Yorkshire Cup and nationally in the English Schools' Football Competition. Over a whole school year, teams can play between 15 to 30 games and some teams will go as far as Whitby, Liverpool, Newcastle and Sheffield.
In addition to football the school enters teams to compete with considerable success in:
. Rugby Union - Yorkshire Merit League/Cup
. Rugby League - Year 10 Yorkshire League/Cup
. Girls Hockey - Leeds School Competition and Leagues
. Athletics (Mixed) - 3 League Competition at South Leeds Stadium
. Cricket - Leeds Schools Cricket
To complement the teams entered into competitions, clubs are also available at lunchtimes and sometimes after school in Trampolining, Badminton, Basketball, Rounders, Dance and Ultimate Frisbee. Our extensive facilities provide a safe and enjoyable working environment for all.
In addition to school sporting activities student's also play many sports in their own time during evenings and weekends.
The following have earned successes in their exta-curricular activities as follows:-
- Kadeena Cox - Year 12 - She is running the 200m sprint in an international competition in Malta
- Charlie Yates - Year 7 - Is representing Yorkshire Central District Rugby League
- Tom Tetlow - Year 10 - Has been selected for Yorkshire Central Rugby League
