 Extra Curricular: School Visits

Educational visits raise achievement by boosting self-esteem and motivation. Away from the classroom environment it can also promote good relations between staff and pupils. More adventurous activities promote health and fitness and, of course, all visits are an enjoyable experience.

This philosophy is encouraged by Education Leeds and at Wetherby High School every visit is scrutinised to ensure it provides the correct educational balance for the pupils.

Visits already undertaken in academic year 2006/2007 are:

 -
West Yorkshire Playhouse to see - The History Boys.
 -
Kielder Forest Challenge.
 -
Alhambra, Bradford to see - To Kill A Mocking Bird.

Some visits develop social education and citizenship and adventurous activities/sport tours fall into this category. Future visits agreed include:

 -
Football tour Holland.

 - Ski trip - France
 - Year 8 Residential - Otterburn.

To ensure the safety of our pupils, staff follow strict guidelines when planning and organising visits. These efforts are rewarded with excellent feedback from pupils and parents.
