 Extra Curriculum: Paris Trip

Paris Conference 2008

On Friday 1st February thirty two students and three staff set off for the 'Your Future in Europe Conference' in Paris. Travelling from Leeds by train and then Eurostar from St Pancras, the group arrived in the French capital in the early evening, just in time to see Paris by night from the Eiffel tower.

The conference on Saturday was held at the Palais de Congres and had an impressive line up of speakers - John Sergeant, Peter Luff, Dam Germain (inventor of 'Smoothies'), Patricia Hewitt MP, Lembit Opik MP and Michael Portillo. The group also visited Notre Dame and enjoyed refreshments in the Latin Quarter before finishing the day with a trip on the River Seine.

The sun shone, the trains were all on time, the students participated enthusiastically and a good time was had by all.
