Extra Curriculum:
On Thursday 7th February 2008 our Year 9, 10 and 11 students took part in an Intermediate Maths Challenge. The Maths Challenges are aiming to stimulate greater interest in Mathematics across the 11-18 age group and last year 600,000 pupils from 4,500 schools took part in the three challenges.
The challenges are run by The United Kingdom Mathematics Trust who are a registered charity founded to advance the education of children and young people in Mathematics for the 11-18 year old UK school pupils.
Our students did really well with the challenge with our year 10's really excelling themselves with their results. Joe Atkinson from year 10 not only gained a gold certificate, but he achieved the best in school mark. This now allows him to continue to yet another challenge named Pink Kangeroo which will be held at the end of April. For full results click here.
