Student Successes
A group of talented young writers at Wetherby High School have had their short stories published in a new regional anthology have all been pubilished in Mini SAGAS West Yorkshire collection, a round up of exciting creative stories all of 50 words or less.
Our students, aged between 11 and 14, beat off stiff competition from youngsters at schools right across West Yorkshire to have their work published in the anthology sponsored by Staedtler.
Head of English, Janet Stephens, said Mini SAGAS had helped encourage the Wetherby students to take more of an interest in the traditional subject.
All of the stories were different. Some were funny, some were fairy tales - they really were very varied and impressive, she said. "We try and encourage our students at Wetherby High to take part in competitions such as these and this latest has proved to be a real success".
