Belinda Ostle Cup

Julia Eales in year 13 has been awarded with the first presentation of a new English trophy in memory of one of our former pupils.

Julia is studying English Language and Literature in sixth form and has been presented with the Belinda Ostle Cup in memory of Belinda Ostle who tragically died in a walking accident in 2007.  Julia achieved a very high A grades at AS level during the 2007 summer examinations and was given full marks for her coursework with the standard of her work been commended by the examination moderator.

Belinda's mother and sister gave the cup to the school to commenorate Belinda's life and chose English as Belinda had particularly enjoyed the subject during her time at Wetherby High School during the 1970's.

The cup will now be given annually to a student who achieves top results in English along with a book token.

A Second congratulations also goes to Julia on being successful in being offered a place to study at Oxford University next year.  A fantastic achievement!!
