Friday, July 2nd 2010 the Wetherby Ramada Jarvis Hotel hosted Wetherby High School's Year 11 Prom.
A large group of parents, families and members of staff assembled outside to observe the spectacular arrivals of the stunningly dressed students.
The students then enjoyed a welcome fruit punch whilst the onlookers gathered in the lounge area to watch the Prom procession, in which the students made their way to the function suite in pairs. They must have felt like film stars arriving for a premiere as the crowd cheered each couple and camera flashes went off by the dozen.
A feast of a buffet followed the procession and then the students danced the night away.
A popular attraction was the professional studio that was set-up within the hotel and the queue of students, keen to pose in their smart suits and beautiful dresses, went on all night.
Event organiser Mr Muddiman commented, 'It was a wonderful, sophisticated occasion and our students looked amazing. The staff at the Wetherby Ramada looked after us really well and I feel that this event proudly flew the flag for both the hotel and for Wetherby High School. We look forward to seeing the students again on GCSE results day (Tuesday, August 24th) and feel delighted that so many members of the year group have chosen to continue their education into the sixth form at Wetherby High'.
